Beardsley House Renovation

The Havilah Beardsley House was original built in 1848 on the north bank of the St Joseph River in Elkhart IN. It was the first brick house in Elkhart. Through the years a number of changes and additions have been made to the home. As you would expect, time has taken its toll on the home, but it has now been purchased by The Ruthmere Foundation and extensive renovations have begun.

When I heard about the project I volunteered my services to photograph the work and changes in the home as they evolve. I am very excited about being part of this project and look forward to using photography to tell the story of the renovation.  As the work progresses, I hope to create photographs that will document the work but also capture the unique features and beauty of the home.

You can visit http://www.ruthmere.org/havilah/default.htm to learn more about the project.

Click here to see the first of the photographs that I created of the Beardsley House in early July.   Come back often to check for progress on the project.
